Transition to Monthly Pay now on the fast track: January 2013

In the midst of very difficult negotiations, AFT 2121 and District have reached conceptual agreement on transitioning to monthly pay effective Spring 2013. The change will bring needed efficiencies to the payroll department, including much improved reporting of earnings to CalSTRS, fewer pay errors, and more time for payroll staff to attend to problems, as well as cost savings. It will also change pay days, schedules, and amounts this Spring during a complicated transition designed to minimize the impact on faculty. No faculty member will lose any pay because of this transition to monthly pay.

Many details regarding this conceptual agreement are being worked out, and both the Union and the District will provide more information soon. We will update this page as more details become available; check back for more.

District remains steadfast on paycuts, Prop A monies still only for “accreditation purposes.”
