Join us Wednesday,Oct. 7: info picket at Mission Campus

We have been working without a contract for three months now. The District placed a paltry economic proposal on the table that keeps the majority of faculty below 2007 salaries.

This is unacceptable. It is time to reach out to the community and ask them to act on our behalf. AFT 2121 will conduct a series of informational pickets over the next several weeks leading up to the goal of a contract by Thanksgiving.  Please Join us!

ACCJC loses again!

On the heels of the State Chancellor’s Accreditation Task Force Report recommendation to get rid of the ACCJC, there is now more bad news for the rogue accrediting agency. ACCJC lost in court once again!

On Friday, the ACCJC went to court attempting to throw out our CFT/AFT 2121 lawsuit against them. Judge Curtis Karnow denied the motion and the trial will proceed. Our lawsuit was filed in 2013 but was held up in Appeals Court because as a delay tactic ACCJC claimed that our suit violated their First Amendment rights. They lost on that claim two times before Friday’s decision against them.

Our lawsuit covers a variety of issues not in the Herrera lawsuit. In particular, our suit focuses on issues about governance, and ACCJC’s illegal intrusive meddling in collective bargaining agreements. We hope that this trial will help expose even more of ACCJC’s illegal activities.
