VOTE | March for the education CA deserves!

Strike authorization vote runs through FLEX Day, Tues. March 8

Faculty demand a fair contract now and are voting to authorize the AFT 2121 Executive Board to call a strike to achieve this goal should negotiations break down. A strong yes vote will demonstrate that faculty are prepared to do whatever it takes to defend public education and preserve the College San Francisco deserves!

.
Just because a strike is authorized does not mean a strike is inevitable. The District can avert a strike by renewing its commitment to students and faculty by settling a fair contract.
.
Faculty became public servants because we want to educate students. Going on strike is not a step we take lightly, as it will mean hardship for our families and missed days of instruction for our students. But withholding our labor is ultimately our strongest tool to defend City College for our students and for San Francisco.
.
Save the date for our vote counting party on Wednesday, March 9 Location TBD.

March for our contract and the public education California deserves!

Stand with education workers from across California for the public education California deserves.

WHAT: March for Public Ed
WHEN: Meet at 12pm
STARTS: At the annual CFT Convention (Hyatt Regency Hotel, 5 Embarcadero Center, San Francisco)

  • Educators, community & students united for quality public education!
  • Educators’ working conditions = student learning conditions!
  • Fund education, not administration!
  • Defend the public education California deserves!
  • Put money into San Francisco’s classrooms!

For more than a year, educators at City College of San Francisco have been struggling to defend the City College that San Francisco deserves by negotiating a contract that invests in students’ future. AFT 2121 educators’ struggle is part of the broader fight for public education across America: In order to maintain high quality public education in San Francisco (pre K- 12 and beyond) we must prioritize students by putting money in the classrooms.
