STRIKE tomorrow!

On Monday night, CCSF Chancellor Lamb announced that all City College campuses will be closed Wednesday, April 27, the day of our one-day ULP strike. Chancellor Lamb’s announcement is a clear indication the District recognizes the unity of faculty, students, and labor at City College.

We will proceed with our plan to peacefully picket and bring our message to the public, but our plan has been modified. Everyone is asked to:

  • Be on the picket line from 8-11AM. Join the location/campus to which you were assigned.
  • Join a major rally from 12-1PM at the new/temporary CCSF Civic Center Campus (1170 Market Street). *Note: There is a farmers’ market in the Civic Center. We will hold the rally along Market from the campus northwards towards Hyde Street/SF public library.
  • Return to the picket line (by around 2pm) after the rally until 7:30PM. Join the location/campus to which you were assigned.

Remember, just because campuses are closed, does not mean this is a day off. We need everyone on the picket line. Your presence is more than symbolic; it is ameasure of our solidarity. The District can shut the college doors but they cannot shut down our demands. If you were planning to join us or are scheduled to work on Wednesday, we still need you to come out even if it’s just for a little while.

Please spread the word. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding, as we have worked to adjust our game plan.
