Action alert for tomorrow: Class cancellations public comment
Have you had a class cancelled or is in danger of being cancelled because of low enrollment? AFT 2121 has filed a mass grievance about class cancellations, but it is up to the Board of Trustees to create policy that will build our college. Come share your experience at 4pmtomorrow, in MUB 140. Faculty on the front lines understand how class cuts are destructive, administration does not. We need to educate the Board, and encourage them to create sane growth policies, rather than limit access for students.
Friday: All members invited to join COPE meeting (location updated)
Election season is here. Help make our Union’s next critical political decisions. All members are invited to join our COPE meeting this Friday, August 19th from 1:30-3:30pm at Mission Campus. The location of this meeting has been moved from room 106 to room 108.
This week: VOTE on our Tentative agreement until August 20th
After our unified organizing over the last year and a successful strike last semester we have a Tentative Agreement! Our Negotiating Team, Executive Board, and Delegate Assembly have all recommended this agreement for ratification. The contract ratification vote is an opportunity for all faculty to register their voice about the new Tentative Agreement. By having a strong turnout, we send a message about the unity and strength of our Union . Be sure to also find a purple faculty contract survey near your ballot box and fill one out when you vote. Voting goes through Saturday, August 20th.
