(Saturday, 5/20) End-of-the-year Union Picnic!
Who: Faculty, partners, kids, pals
When: Saturday, May 20 from 11:00 am-3:00 pm
Where: Golden Gate Park, Lindley Meadow, Picnic tables 10 & 11
What: Barbecue fare, beer, lemonade, kid-friendly games, awards and lots of fun to kick off the summer (rain cancels).
Bring: Lawn chairs, blankets, games, frisbees, kiddos, friendly dogs.

2. (This Saturday) Join us at the March for Science
Last week the AFT 2121 Executive Board passed a “Resolution in Support of the Science March.” We hope you will join our AFT 2121 group in marching this Saturday. We will gather between 10:30AM and 12pm. Find us with the SF Labor Council contingent behind the AFT 2121 banner at Justin Herman Plaza. We will march down Market St starting at 12:30PM.

3. How can I join the May Day RESISTANCE?
You can help us fight back! AFT 2121 supports any faculty workers who choose to participate in the resistance action on May 1st. AFT 2121 will be joining the San Francisco Labor Council contingent at the 11am rally and march beginning at Justine Herman Plaza in San Francisco.

Join outreach before May 1st Day of Action
SF Bay Resistance is leading outreach day on Saturdays in April to get people to join us in the streets on May Day. Orientation and training will be provided. Find out how you can help.

4. Bargaining Team nominations due May 20
The time has come to begin the process of assembling our AFT 2121 Bargaining Team for our next contract campaign. Our elected and rank-and-file union leaders are asking for more member involvement in the selection of our Bargaining Team. Any member who fills out the AFT 2121 Negotiating Team Nominations Form and gets the signature of 20 other members can be can be nominated to run in the Bargaining Team election to be held at the Delegate Assembly on 5/23.
The deadline for turning in your form is Saturday, May 20 at our Union Picnic in Golden Gate Park. If you wish, you may also include a 100 word statement on why you would make a good member of the Bargaining Team. The Bargaining Team will then be elected by the Delegate Assembly at their May 23 meeting on the Ocean Campus in MUB 140 from 3-5pm.
