AFT 2121 stands in solidarity with our students and all immigrants facing an uncertain future under the outrageous and cruel actions of the Trump administration. The rollback of protections for DACA recipients not only hurts our young people dealing with arbitrary rules, but also affects the vitality of public institutions like City Colllege. Having spent their formative years in the U.S., DACA students have made countless contributions–as all immigrants have–to our society. More than ever, we need to stand up for the values that affirm our humanity.
As educators, we understand our students’ struggles and how important it is for DACA students to continue their education. Here is how we can stand with–and stand up for–DACA students and others at risk of deportation in the days and months ahead.
We can help students understand what resources and support is available.
