Due to an overwhelming response, the Free City Celebration with Senator Bernie Sanders event is full. Tickets were issued based on a lottery of those who RSVP’d. All those who have a ticket through the lottery can attend the event in the Diego Rivera Theatre or overflow areas. Theater seating is first-come-first-served.
Initially we were given the green light from event planners at the College for this event to be fully open to the public so we worked with the Free City Coalition and the College to set it up as a fully public event. However, last minute security concerns raised by the College yesterday led to the lottery today.
The College did agree to let us set aside limited first-come-first-served seating for faculty and students at the event tomorrow regardless of the lottery results so please bring your college ID with you if you do come tomorrow.
We are sincerely sorry that this event was not allowed to remain completely open to the public. But this is not the only opportunity to see Senator Sanders tomorrow. Our event will be livestreamed on Facebook here and on ccsf.edu.
And Senator Sanders is also speaking at a public event hosted by the California Nurses Association and National Nurses United at Yerba Buena Gardens Esplande (on Mission Street, between 3rd and 4th Streets). That program opens at 12:30 p.m. and will begin at 1:00 p.m
