AFT 2121 and CFT respond to Gov. Brown’s fast push for fully online CA college

Earlier this year Governor Brown directed State Chancellor Eloy Oakley to create a CA Online Community College. It is just a bad idea that needs to be rejected. AFT 2121 and CFT wrote letters explaining why. Here they are.

AFT 2121 thanks and celebrates Li Lovett

Li Lovett has served as communication director our our Union for many years. Now she is leaving City College for a job at Stanford. Over the last five years Li helped us fight back against the ACCJC and most recently dedicated herself to our work for Free City. Our Union would not be as strong as we are without her. She has our gratitude. We will miss her and wish her well.

Wednesday, 11/29: Open negotiations

The hundreds of faculty who have chosen to re-commit to our Union by signing a new membership form have put us in a powerful position to begin our latest round of negotiations. For example, we have been able to win the right to hold open negotiations.

All faculty are invited to come observe bargaining and give input in caucuses of our Union bargaining team.

Open Negotiations
Wed, Nov. 29 from 1-5pm
Ocean Campus, MUB

If you would like to observe, please contact Athena Waid at awaid@aft2121.org, and review our open negotiation guidelines.
