(Wednesday, 1/17) You can join our Bargaining Team meeting

(Wednesday, 1/17) Open Bargaining Team meeting

We have built a lot of power and momentum together over the last five years. To win better wages, defend educational quality, and improve working conditions, we must continue to stay involved and stick together. Since we will not be meeting with the District’s team tomorrow we invite all faculty to join our Bargaining Team tomorrow for a public meeting instead from 1:30-5PM in MUB 238. We ask everyone to please be respectful of our team’s process and review the open negotiations guidelines.
  • 1:30-2:30PM: Presentation on Salaries by Advisor to the Bargaining Team Doug Orr.
  • 2:30-3:15PM: Bargaining team discussion of options for proposals.
  • 3:15-4PM: Listening session for members and open discussion.
  • 4-5PM: Bargaining Team closed session.

What’s next? How can I support my Bargaining Team?

Share your story

City College is an essential source of community and a vital source of strength in San Francisco. When we won Free City last year we changed the narrative from austerity to growth. Now we must continue building the stability our students deserve to rebuild our college and provide them with high quality education. Help address this crisis with us by telling your story. Why do you love your job? Is the affordability crisis threatening your ability to remain an educator? What about your students? Let’s ask the Board of Trustees and our administration for their support in protecting what matters at our college. Join our union:

  • in public comment to the Board of Trustees (January 25, 4pm, Southeast Campus)
  • or share your story at our Open Negotiations (January 31, 2pm, MUB 238).

Commit or re-commit to our Union

The gains we’ve made in our contract campaign, our fight against the ACCJC, and victory with Free City were made possible by collectively pooling our resources, including our union dues. The hundreds of faculty who have chosen to re-commit to our Union this semester by signing our new membership form — with its loud, proud commitment to “stick with our union” for a full calendar year —  have put us in a powerful position for our latest round of negotiations. If you have not done so this school year, please sign a new AFT 2121 membership form.
