AFT 2121 members in action

Last week, more than two dozen AFT 2121 members volunteered to ask their colleagues to join our union to ensure that we continue to have the strength needed to advocate on behalf of faculty, students and our community.

We had an overwhelmingly positive response: nearly 40 new members signed up!

In this post-Janus landscape, anti-union forces are campaigning to wipe out teachers’ unions entirely. But City College faculty are pushing back: since the Janus case, AFT 2121 membership has grown to an all-time high of 88%!

But in order to keep fighting back, we need ALL of our faculty to stick with our union! If you haven’t yet joined, or if you’re not sure of your membership status, you can fill out a membership form online.

What’s next?

On Saturday more than a dozen AFT 2121 members volunteered to get the word out about our endorsed candidates. We had a ton of fun talking to voters about Free City and our priorities for the upcoming November elections. We still have lots of work to do to help make sure we elect candidates in San Francisco that will support keeping our Free City program going! And to keep our college and our Union strong!
