As many people saw on the news, I was arrested and injured at a rent control demonstration in Alameda on Wednesday, Nov. 4th. The show of support and concern since has been humbling and gratifying. Thank you. Your kind words and thoughts have made this difficult time much easier and I appreciate every email and call, though most are still unanswered.
Many people have asked how they could help with bail, legal and medical expenses. My union, The American Federation of Teachers, Local 2121, which represents the City College of San Francisco faculty, has set up a fund to collect donations. If you are able to help, please, send a check to:
