Make Free City Real | Party | Bad Faith Bargaining, again!

(Tuesday, 12/13) Action steps: Making Free City College REAL!

San Franciscans overwhelming passed Prop W to fund the Free City College initiative. Now, Mayor Ed Lee and some members of the Board of Supervisors have been talking about NOT making Free City College happen, despite being supported by the voters last month.

On Tuesday, 12/13 let’s tell the full Board of Supervisors: “thank you for your pledge to fund Free City with Prop W monies– don’t abandon that promise.” They need to send $9 million to to the Free City College Initiative NOW to seed the fund for Fall 2017!

Join us Tuesday, December 13th
For Christmas caroling in the Board of Supervisors’ offices (1-2pm)
For the Supervisors’ meeting (2:00-4:00pm, room 250)

I can’t attend the meeting: How else can I help make Free City College REAL?

(Friday 12/16) You’re invited: AFT 2121 end-of-semester holiday party!

Please join AFT 2121 on Friday, Dec. 16 from 3:00-6:00 pm in Pierre Cost Dining Room to celebrate the end of the semester and toast our collective accomplishments — a new contract, two new Board of Trustees members, and the passage Prop. W for Free City College! There will be a delicious Mediterranean spread, beer, wine, holiday punch, and awards both silly and earnest.

Bad Faith Bargaining: Administration drags feet on implementing new contract

While the Chancellor and the District continue to work diligently to implement cuts to our programs they can’t seem to meet basic labor relations requirements displaying a lack of respect for faculty and Union rights.
Five months after reaching tentative agreement on a new contract with AFT, the District has failed to follow through on numerous commitments involving the new contract and enforcement (grievances). See some examples of the District’s bad faith bargaining.
