(Wed. 3/14) 17 Minute Walkout

March 14 is the one-month anniversary of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida and Women’s March Youth EMPOWER is calling for students, teachers, school administrators, parents and allies to take part in a#NationalSchoolWalkout for 17 minutes at 10am across every time zone on March 14, 2018. Each minute of the walk out is dedicated to one of the 17 victims at the Florida Parkland High School shooting.
  • Tomorrow, AFT 2121 leaders will be out in solidarity wearing orange and standing with our banner in Ram Plaza from 10-10:17am. We hope you will come stand with us. Please wear orange if you can.
  • Today, our AFT 2121 Executive Board unanimously passed resolution supporting the student walk-out.
  • Chancellor Rocha made a statement last week supporting this action.

The California Federation of Teachers Executive Board and AFT 2121 are in unanimous support of this action. Tomorrow join us in saying #ENOUGH!
