New Executive Director

The AFT 2121 executive board is pleased to announce that Alayna Fredericks will take over as our executive director on July 1, when our long-time ED, Chris Hanzo, retires. A native San Franciscan, Alayna comes to us from our state affiliate, the California Federation of Teachers. While working for CFT, Alayna was assigned to AFT Local 2121 for several months during the accreditation crisis, and helped us strategize to save our college. More recently, she worked as a CFT Field Rep, representing eleven locals throughout the Sacramento region in contract negotiations, grievances, and many organizing campaigns. Before joining the labor movement, Alayna worked with in environmental advocacy, and as a community organizer and fundraiser in the U.S. and Latin America. Please join us in welcoming Alayna to AFT 2121!
