House visits are fun | More…

We had so much fun! House visits continue this week

AFT 2121 was thrilled to go out over the weekend with Peralta Federation of Teachers faculty to sign up new members for both of our Unions and educate folks about how sticking together helps us protect educational quality in the current political climate. Two dozen folks volunteered from both of our Unions!
We had so much fun and will keep doing house visits this week. Wednesday in the East Bay and Thursday in SF.  You can help by signing up for a house visit day.
The Supreme Court’s ruling on the Janus v. AFSCME case means that non-members will no longer have to pay their fair share for union representation; but our Union will still be legally obligated to represent them. It does not mean that we will stop our hard work to continue strengthening our Union!
We’ve got to stick together and we are working together to connect with as many faculty as we can face-to-face.
This is a critical window to connect with our colleagues before they hear from anti-union interests. We need your help to reach as many of our faculty as possible. We will continue knocking on doors and speaking to our colleagues in the East Bay on Wednesday 8/8 and in San Francisco on Thursday 8/9 from 11am-3pm both days.  Can you join us for one or both days of house visits? You can help by signing up for a house visit day.
Since the Janus ruling we have had a rush of faculty filling out our new AFT 2121 online membership form online. 88% of AFT 2121 faculty are already members and are sticking with our Union. Now we just need to keep the momentum going!
