RESIST Class Cancellations: AFT T-Shirts on Independent FLEX

It is no secret that the term productivity is just a fancy, higher-education equivalency for LARGE CLASS SIZES. Teachers in West Virginia, Oakland, Los Angeles, etc. have been pushing back against large classes, under-staffing and a lack of resources. And the agenda that led to these conditions in public education is camping at our doorstep finding ever-creative euphemisms and gateways for imposing the very same agenda on our vital community college system. The system that bridges the gap between our starved K-12 schools and broader access to higher education.

The #RedforEd struggle is about the fight for the future of public education—a fight that we know all too well here at CCSF. Just as we resisted the ACCJC, we will not allow Chancellor Rocha or VCAA Boegel to downsize our college in the name of these destructive agendas.

Last night, AFT sent an open letter to Chancellor Rocha in response to the recent intensification of austerity policies.
