(2/5) Supporting African American Studies Department

Wednesday, February 5th at 2:30 pm in Wellness Center 103 LALS instructor Marco Mojica will lead an emergency subcommittee to brainstorm ideas to develop a plan to support CCSF African-American Studies Department, which currently has no full-time faculty, and is composed of only two (2) part-time faculty and one emergency hire.


(2/6) COPE

Thursday, February 6th from 10:30am-12:30pm in MUB 240 will be our next AFT 2121 COPE meeting. All AFT 2121 members are invited and can cast votes to decide our political priorities.

 

(2/4) HEAT Press Conference

Tuesday, February 4th, 12:30-1pm at City Hall. HEAT* has organized a press conference before the Board of Supervisors’ meeting at 2pm in room 250.  This is the meeting where the supervisors will take a second vote on the $2.7 M Bridge Funding.

 

*The Higher Education Action Team  is a group of CCSF students, alumni, faculty, staff, and members of the community. HEAT stands for ensuring that everyone has access to as many high quality educational opportunities as possible.

  • Learn to advocate for important issues that impact faculty, staff, students, and our communities.
  • Receive specialized training to maximize your time with your elected officials and representatives.
  • Practice effective strategies and techniques for planning meetings, building connections, and establishing open lines of communication.
  • Receive timely and correct informational materials to use during your meetings.
