At long last The District and AFT have reached an agreement around Crisis Distance Learning evaluations!
COVID-19 has fundamentally changed the nature of all of our work, and faculty would greatly benefit from an evaluation process focused on feedback, dialog, and support about teaching methods in this remote environment.
We had been stuck for months, but witnessed a significant shift in the district’s position once we shifted to open bargaining and filed an Unfair Labor Practice. The district’s willingness to come to an agreement once rank-and-file members attended bargaining is proof that you have power and you used it to win!
