Delegate Assembly on 8/26 In-Person

Our next Delegate Assembly (DA) will be Tuesday, August 26, 3:00-5:00 at the Ocean Campus in STEAM 104. All members are always welcome to attend. Subsequent meetings will be on Zoom, but we encourage all who can to come out and start the year strong by physically coming together.

Our current contract comes due at the end of this academic year, so this is the time to start organizing our strategy to win the best contract possible. 

• We will be discussing how to activate our democratic structure to get all members involved in the bargaining process. 
• Come see each other and meet our new organizers, and then join your union siblings for a happy hour afterwards at the Ocean Ale House.

Part-Time Faculty Teaching Short Term Classes

The Office of Instruction has asked AFT to communicate the following to part time faculty who teach short term classes. Part time faculty are paid for classes during the months that they teach those classes. Although the 16 week schedule often starts in August, this semester 16-week classes won’t start until 9/2. This means that part-time faculty teaching those classes won’t begin receiving pay for those classes until their September paycheck.

Celebrate Labor Day September 1 with the SF Labor Community

On Labor Day: September 1, 2025, AFT 2121 and CFT members from around Northern California will be joining labor and community partners in San Francisco to fight for a better tomorrow! 

The current administration is undermining fundamental workers’ rights while generously filling the pockets of the rich. The President recently signed an executive order stripping federal workers of their collective bargaining rights which is a blatant union busting policy. Hundreds of other executive orders have been signed aimed at destroying our democracy and violating human rights.

Join our local’s contingent to march together for worker’s rights, democracy, and for a better future.
