On the most recent payday (6-28-13), many faculty were not paid for work performed. Over 150 faculty will be paid on Monday, July 8, or Tuesday, July 9, at the latest. AFT 2121 received a large number of calls and online pay complaints that we forwarded to the District with a demand for immediate payment.
The State’s fiscal monitoring team, FCMAT, reported on District shortcomings in financial accounting at the last BOT meeting, including criticisms of the District for an excessive number of overpayments to faculty. Apparently, the huge increase in the number of “failures to pay” didn’t arouse their concern.
