Mediation over; contract dispute moves to fact-finding

CCSF faculty are still working without a contract. The State mediator has submitted our contract dispute to fact-finding, a process where AFT and the District each presents their positions/rationales on salaries, the District’s budget, workload and other unresolved issues to a 3-person panel for analysis and recommendations for settlement.

At its recent Delegate Assembly, AFT reps affirmed their resolve to continue the fight for a fair contract including striking if necessary to achieve it. The Union also expressed support of the California Faculty Association, which is currently going through a similar process, in their effort to win a fair salary increase for their CSU faculty.

We will be reporting more from fact-finding and about our ongoing fight for a fair contract in the coming days.
