AFT 2121 has endorsed their Our City College Campaign, to reclaim and rebuild CCSF, with
six campaign demands.
Don’t miss the Solidarity Committee’s student-led Our City College Mobilization Teach-In event, WEDNESDAY March 22, 12-2 p.m. in MUB 370.Guest speakers include activists from the SF Defund DAPL Coalition, Bay Area Resistance, Justice for Alex Nieto Coalition, Muslim Student Association, Diversity Studies departments, and more! We are calling for a moratorium on any further cuts to our College until the end of the Fall 2017 Semester.Earlier this month we opened the conversation about class cuts with the new members of the CCSF Board of Trustees. And we will keep organizing until we win.

Petition in support of Students and Programs in MUB
It’s imperative that our college administration stop top-down decision making practices and work to make sure that students and faculty have a real voice in decisions at the college and
education is always the first priority.
The MUB was built with bond funds for students and includes specialized space and equipment to meet the needs of the Child Development (CDEV) and Health Education departments. As part of the plan to lease 33 Gough street to a developer, the staff in Payroll, HR and other offices at 33 Gough are being relocated. Admin has chosen to move them into the MUB, taking over the specialized space originally designed for students. Students, faculty and department chairs from affected departments were not involved in this decision. There is no concrete plan for the relocation of students, faculty and class sections that will be displaced. We are working to fight this top-down decision, and to demand that admin work together with faculty, staff and students to make the right plan for this move.
AFT 2121 is supporting this petition to save MUB started by CDEV and Health Ed. You can help by circulating and returning these petitions by March 21st at our AFT 2121 General Membership meeting (
Tuesday, 3/21 from
3-5pm in MUB 160). Petitions about MUB will be presented to the Board of Trustees at their
March 23rd meeting. We will also be at that Board of Trustess Meeting protesting class cuts starting at
4pm. Please join us!
District finally completes new 2015/18 Contract!
Finally, six months after our new contract was ratified by the District, we have a completed collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with salary tables. Links to the new documents are here:
Some new salary provisions have been completed, including:
- Retro pay for 2015/16 and Fall 2016 completed in Fall 2016, including new Step 17 (full-time) and Step 13 (part-time)
- Restoration of the ‘frozen’ step from 2009/10 completed in Fall 2016 for full-time faculty.
However, as we reported, several of the new salary provisions are still are still in process:
- For part-time faculty, restoration of 2009/10 ‘frozen’ semesters is still pending. Eligible faculty have been identified. Part-time faculty eligible for a step advancement will receive retro pay back to August, 2016.
- Faculty hired this academic year, 2016/17, were recently notified of the process for applying for initial step placement under the new provisions. Forms are due back to HR by May 1. Applicants found eligible for higher initial step placement will receive back pay to Fall 2016.
