Bonus on August paychecks | Labor Day

LOOKBACK BONUS ON AUGUST PAYCHECKS!

All faculty who worked last year should see a new line on your August paycheck. It should have a code that includes the term “LKBK”, and it should amount to 2% of everything you earned from July 2016 – June 2017.

This is a “Lookback”. It’s a one-time payment we negotiated based on the money available after the fiscal year was over. Please see directions below to check the amount.

In addition to this one-time payment, we negotiated another victory, although this one will be harder to see right away. Starting in Fall 2016, we won a 2.68% increase that was scheduled to go away on July 1st, 2018. But now, instead of being temporary, this increase will become “on schedule” – meaning our pay will now permanently continue at the higher rate!

And all our rates are slightly higher than last year, since a 1.56% COLA went into effect in July. New rates are here: https://www.aft2121.org/contract-salaries/

We’re beginning the semester with a bonus, free credit classes, increased enrollment, and full accreditation. When we fight and stick together, this is what happens!

CALCULATE YOUR LOOKBACK

Earnings for 2016-2017 include subbing, office hours, and overload. They do not include the retros we were paid in Fall 2016, since those were actually for the previous year. Here’s how to check the amount:

— Go to Web4/Employee Services/Pay Information/Earnings History.
— Enter July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017 as the date range.
— Add up everything you see EXCEPT the lines which contain 15/16. Those were retros for the previous year.

— Multiply by 0.02
