Details of new AFT/District agreement

Faculty to vote on new contract beginning May 9th

The AFT 2121 Executive Board and Negotiating Team unanimously recommend a ‘Yes’ vote on the new 2018-2021 contract. The AFT Delegate Assembly will vote on whether to recommend at its Tuesday, May 8th meeting. A schedule of the ratification vote and “teach in” meetings to discuss/explain new contract is forthcoming.

Compensation highlightsSalaries to increase to at least the median of Bay 10 community colleges with pro-rated increases for part-time faculty

  • Increase salary column increments above Column F to $2,670 by end of year 3
  • Provide $7,400 flat amount increase to all salary cells over 3 years
  • Provide new full-time longevity steps for columns F and above:
    Year 1 = Step 25   $8,010 above Step 17
    Year 2 = Step 23   $5,340 above Step 17
    Year 3 = Step 20   $2,670 above Step 17
  • Provide pro-rated increases to 86% pro-rated part-time and overload scales
  • Provide new Step 14 in Year 2 to Part-time steps. Provide new Step 15 and Step 16 contingent on meeting Fund balance (budget) goal.

Other gains in the new TA

  • Raise load factor for clinical labs in nursing and Allied Health from .75 to .85.
  • Elimination of pay differential for labs previously designated as “Conference”
  • AFT/District to continue meeting over District budget with possibility of additional improvements in salary and lab load factors if CCSF budget goals are met.
  • Noncredit workload: AFT/District to conduct extensive study of hours of faculty work, impact of lowering workload on curriculum, impact on part-time assignments, etc.
  • District and AFT to review viability of extending retiree health benefits to full-time categorical employees who vest based on review of scheduled audit of District’s OPEB obligation.
  • Merge categorical with General Fund sick leave
  • Codifies retired faculty access to libraries, pool, Wellness Center, parking permits, ID cards, CCSF email and websites.
