On Tuesday seven members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors along with 24 different local Bay Area labor unions and community groups sent a letter to Chancellor Lamb, Guy Lease and each member of the CCSF Board of Trustees urging them to settle a fair contract with AFT 2121 faculty! They defined a successful agreement:
In our view, a successful agreement must:
* preserve quality education and programs that are accessible and diverse, including protecting classes from premature or unnecessary cuts;
* account for lost ground and rising costs in a Bay Area with exponentially rising expenses, recognizing that faculty—both part-time and full-time—deserve long-term salary commitments, not temporary fixes;
* commit to fully rebuilding the college and its enrollment as part of a collaborative and dedicated effort.
