(3/24) General Membership Meeting: How to participate, more
All AFT 2121 faculty are invited to participate in our March 24th General Membership Meeting from 3-5pm. Due to COVID-19 our union is hosting the March general membership meeting via Zoom. At 3pm on 3/24 follow this link from your computer or smartphone: https://tinyurl.com/v8pgdv2 OR call 1-669-900-6833 then follow the prompts to enter the meeting ID #853 737 931.
Some things to keep in mind when joining the General Membership Meeting remotely:
- We will be muting participants when they join, but you will be able unmute yourself to participate.
- If you would like to make a comment or ask a question, please use the Raise Hand feature and you’ll be called on and unmuted by the facilitator.
- If you’re calling in by phone to the meeting, only a phone number will display instead of your name; we’ll ask you who you are and list your name instead of number for the meeting.
- We’ll use the Poll feature for voting.
- The meeting will be recorded for the minutes, but the recording will not be made available after the meeting.
- Please be patient – we’re all figuring this out!
- Having trouble? Step by step zoom trouble shooting.

Nominations for officers, Reps-at-Large, Precinct Representatives, and Labor Council delegates for the upcoming AFT 2121 elections can be made by “attending” this meeting. Election Commission Chair Kathleen Duffy will preside over the nominations.
Look for the list of positions with any nominations received prior to the meeting at www.aft2121.org/elections. The Election Chair will go through each office, beginning with President, asking for nominations.
Any Union member may nominate an eligible AFT member. A “second” to the nomination is not required. The nominated member may decline if they are unable to run for the office.
