Update: AFT 2121 elections for 2020-22 term
Due to the state-wide emergency restriction around COVID-19, AFT 2121 is unable to conduct a mail ballot as we have in the past, so voting will be conducted online by a third party company that specializes in online elections, including union elections. The AFT Election Commission is reviewing these vendors and recommending one to our Executive Board. Members will be sent voting instructions to their email addresses. Members will then access a remote, secure voting site to cast their ballot using a unique member number.
Precinct Rep elections are postponed until the fall term.
Nomination for officers, Reps-at-Large, and Labor Council and for AFT convention delegates conclude Friday, April 3, and we are already in the process of confirming acceptance with nominees.
If you wish to update your email address, please send your new address, along with your name, phone number, and CCSF employee ID (for verification purposes), to our general mailbox: aft@aft2121.org.
Candidates may request contact information of eligible voters for the purpose of election campaigning. We will also host campaign statements at our website, aft2121.org. Candidates statements are due Wednesday, April 9. Please see rules for submitting a candidate statement here.
Tentative dates:
- Monday, April 20, 2020 – email notification to eligible voters with online voting instructions
- Friday, May 8, 2020 – last day for online voting
Nominations took place via Zoom at the March 24, 2020, General Membership meeting (3-5pm), which could not be held in-person because of coronavirus shutdown of CCSF.
The AFT 2121 Election Commission has also extended nomination for the upcoming AFT 2121 Officers, Reps-at-Large, and Delegates elections until Friday, April 3, at 5pm.
If you missed the deadline or had difficulties accessing AFT’s online General Membership meeting, you may nominate yourself by sending an email to: Dayna Holz, Secretary, AFT 2121 at dholz@aft2121.org stating the office you are nominating yourself for.

Otherwise, all members who have been in good standing for at least one year are eligible to run for President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Rep-at-Large on the Executive Board, as representatives of their precincts, and/or as Labor Council delegate.
AFT 2121 Retiree Chapter members are eligible to vote in the upcoming AFT 2121 elections provided they are current in paying dues ($24/year).
Current faculty on unpaid leave or part-time faculty who are laid off (with recall rights) need to pay $5/month dues to remain in good standing and eligible to vote. Contact us with any questions aft@aft2121.org.

DELAYED UNTIL Fall 2020 – Nominations for Precinct Representative (Delegate)
Your Union has been working to improve representation for rank and file members at our Delegate Assembly, the democratic decision-making body for AFT 2121.
Our hard-working delegates (Precinct Reps)have brought your voice to our monthly meetings. As you consider nominating someone for our upcoming leadership elections, please consult the list of faculty by last nameto check your current precinct number and find out who is eligible to run for leadership. Then check the list of faculty by precinct number. Here you can see a list of faculty who are members of the union in each precinct and thus eligible to serve as officers or reps. If your name does not appear on this list, you may not yet be an official member of our union. Please fill out theAFT 2121 membership form and submit it to the AFT office by Tuesday, March 20, 2020, in order to be eligible to run and/or vote in the leadership election.
We encourage you to think about the person you turn to in your department or area. That person might be a great rep. Or maybe you would like to serve. Either way, fill out this precinct rep nomination form and return it to our union office.
