District Fails to Pay Hundreds of Faculty

The Office of Instruction has identified 200 separate faculty assignments that were not paid at all on the August paycheck, and they expect to find more.

If you were affected, please notify your chair immediately in order to start the “off-cycle” payment process. (Please keep in mind that office staff in the payroll department are 100% NOT responsible for this error, so please refrain from taking out frustrations on our fellow workers.)

The Office of Instruction has informed us that under the college’s ARGOS/Banner system, affected faculty will not receive payment until Sept. 7 at the earliest. This is clearly unacceptable, so AFT 2121 has asked Chancellor Rocha to see that our faculty are paid by tomorrow morning, or to use his own paycheck to make sure our hardworking teachers, librarians, and counselors can pay their rent, their mortgages, and their other bills.
